A safe environment isn't much to ask.  But, all too often, it's more than our children and young people enjoy.  That's why our own work remains so important.  We aim to eradicate the climate of fear and intimidation that many children and young people live under.  We aim to do so by:

• raising the profile of bullying and the effect it has on children and young people's emotional health and well-being, life chances and achievement
• creating a climate in which everyone agrees that bullying is unacceptable and must be tackled as a matter of urgency
• ensuring that children and young people and the teachers and other adults who work with them are equipped with the skills and knowledge to address bullying effectively
