FilmClub launches anti-bullying season

9 December 2009

FILMCLUB is a free national scheme which aims to engage and inspire children through the world of film. All maintained schools in England can join FILMCLUB and select free weekly films from an extensive library of titles. As well as watching films in after-school clubs, pupils are encouraged to discuss the films they have watched and submit reviews to the FILMCLUB website. Films available are from all over the world and range from recent releases to the silent era.

FILMCLUB arranges seasons of films covering particular types of film-making, or reflecting specific topics. The latest season is Anti-Bullying - ten films in which bulllying is a major theme. Films in this season include Kes, Lord of the Flies, Edward Scissorhands, and Charlie Chaplin's The Kid. To find out more about or to register for FILMCLUB teachers should visit the FILMCLUB website or call a member of the schools team on 0207 288 4520
