The competition is now closed
- look out for an announcement about the winners in
September!
This year’s Anti-Bullying Week takes
place from 15-19 November and a competition
for schools has been launched to get schools thinking about the
issues ahead of time.
This year’s theme ‘Taking Action
Together’ aims to get everyone involved in preventing
bullying. Instead of just standing there and watching, or ignoring
it taking place online, ABA wants children and young people to
recognise what’s happening and take action to stop it.
The Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) which
runs Anti-Bullying Week is asking key stage 2 and 3 pupils to
design a computer screensaver depicting the theme of collective
action against bullying. The winning designs will be used as part
of the campaign and will be available to everyone to download
nationwide.
Sue Steel, National Manager of
ABA, said: ‘Anti-Bullying Week is a huge fixture in the
school calendar but bullying can happen all year round. Our
competition will get pupils actively involved right now. The
majority of children, adults, schools and communities do want to
take action to tackle bullying but sometimes it can be hard to know
who to tell and who can help. Our Anti-Bullying Week campaign will
support them to do so.’
The competition closes on
Friday 30 July at 5pm. More details and an entry
form can be found here.
Winners will get individual prizes
as well as Anti-Bullying Week merchandise for their schools.
