We want to hear the views and ideas of as many people as
possible. We want to work with those keen to help us tackle
bullying. These individuals and organisations will help us
see the bigger picture and give the young people of England a
stronger voice on the issue of bullying.
Here are some of the organisations we work with:
Diana Award
The
Young Anti-Bullying Alliance was formed through a partnership
between the Diana Award and the Anti-Bullying Alliance. We
gain a great deal of strength in this partnership. The Diana
Award is in constant touch with more than 10,000 young people in
the UK, all of whom have tackled bullying - and continue to do
so.
Mencap
Dudley's
Mencap ME2 group has created an invaluable piece of work based on
the bullying of disabled young people. As well as working
alongside ME2 to further its work, we now have an ME2
representative on the Young ABA board. This representative
not only provides their expertise to Young ABA but also trains the
board in diversity and inclusion awareness.
RespectMe
RespectMe
is Scotland's anti-bullying service and they will soon be helping
us deliver our message in Scottish schools and organisations.
Stonewall
At Young
ABA we are keen to reflect the needs and views of minority
groups. One such group is the young people represented by
Stonewall. Stonewall is the charity that represents lesbians,
gay men and bisexuals; a significant part of its work concerns
bullying. We hope to work with Stonewall's young people, so
that we gain a better insight into how bullying can affect lesbian,
gay and bisexual young people - and how we can begin to tackle this
best.
LBGT History Month and
Schools
Out
Young ABA has created a number of equality
and inclusivity initiatives with LBGT History Month and Schools
Out. We now have a representative on the Young ABA board who
provides their expertise and training to board members and helps
ensure that Young ABA represents the views of all young people.
Childnet
The
cyberbullying theme of Anti-Bullying Week 2009 has seen us team up
with Childnet on its Youth IGF Project. This makes sure that
the views of young people on the subject on internet safety are
made known to Parliament.
Timebank and
T-Mobile
Young ABA and the Diana Award are
partners of the TxtUp Stand Up website developed in partnership
with T-Mobile. This is a platform that allows young people to
share tips and advice with those who may be experiencing bullying
by text.
Beat Bullying
Beat
Bullying's CyberMentors programme supports and trains young people
to tackle online bullying and to show how technology can support
those who have been bullied. Young ABA members will be
trained to become CyberMentors.
